So i have not played any DVD´s for years but wated to see a couple of old movies using MC25. The DVD starts but i stutters and is extremly pixelated and shows Green screen. Cant even get it to play.
Tryed to rip instead same result
Upgraded to MC31 (that was about time yes) same problem.
Tryed with External DVD drive same problem.
I looked it up some was mentioning setting Deinterlacing ON but that was relating to MC15 or there abouts.
Anyone have an idea ??
I know DVD are very old but anyway ;-)

What was the answer to his question from that wiki page? Wrong region? I'm not seeing what the answer was exactly.

By the referal to the Wiki I take it that you think Area coding and while that is Possible its not properble as the DVD with the same DVD drive including the external has worked before.
But yes the way it acts does remind me of area coding although Im not sure

Try ripping it with MKV. You may learn something.

The only time i have seen green and pixelation with a dvd is when my graphics card broke. New card fixed it. I play dvds regularly without issue, so maybe you have a hardware issue or the disc is weird.
You could try turning off hardware acceleration, or get more information about the disc using Mediainfo.

So I worked a little more on it = installed VLC and that is playing the DVD just fine !!!
so I could say the problem is solved but would really like to use JRiver exclusively

In the video settings try toggling "Hardware accelerated video decoding". This may help. If it does, let us know which way the setting is when it does work. :)

Thanks for feed back
Tried systematicly all Video settings unfortunatly did nothing work.
And it really bugs me that using VLC worked fine so I cant be hardware problems but what then ::)
