I can't get the drop down menus to work - the top levels are frozen other than being able to quit - any thoughts? Other apps are working fine on my macbook air with Sonoma 14.0
-
I can second this behavior. When you click on any menu item in the menu bar, they "react" but never open.
-
Sign up to the Apple OS Beta Program and install Sonoma 14.1. Beta 2 - that has cured some of the Menu Madness 14.0 is causing.
-
I just installed 14.3 (beta). The menus are about the same as 14.0 and 14.1 .

Still trying to figure out what exactly Sonoma is doing that triggers this.
-
Bob - You may, or may not, beleive this - I instaled Sonoma 14.1. Beta 3 on the Mac mini and the MC Menu's are Behaving Themselves. I am only having to click once to get them to drop-down; plus if I open a menu, i.e. "File", don't select anything, then click on another menu the the 1st menu closes ad the new one opens.
But if I select something from one of the menu's like changing the skin, the menus start behaving the same way as beta 2.

Hi guys,
I have the same Problems with MC 29.90 since i upgraded to Sonoma. I can`t use any
tab of the menue-bar. You can tab on it, but nothig happens ( only the "Quit tab" is working).
Greetings
Flipper
P.S. I have a Mac mini M1 with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD.

It should be better in 31.0.71. It's here: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,137153.0.html
This is an Apple problem and their latest beta is also better.

14.1 build(23B73) Public beta track, and MC 31.0.77
still seeing the described issue.
-
Should be fixed in build 31.0.78. Works for me.
Please give it a try.

i have just installed 31.0.78 and the menubar is still frozen.
-
Working for me so far (about an hour) - however, it did seem to take a few hours before the hanging seemed to take place. I'll report back if it hangs later.
-
Several hours later - still chugging along. No issues have reappeared - great work Bob - as usual!
-
I installed 31.0.78 a few hours ago and tested the menus. They worked fine. Yay!
Brian.

You probably need a newer version of the OS.

It's more likely you have a different piece of software that's incompatible with Sonoma and that's interfering with MC's menu bar.
31.0.78 fixed with menu bar inconsistency issues.
-
I am visiting this page for the exact same problem. Using Sonoma 14.0.

Try updating the OS to Sonoma 14.1 and if you haven't already done it MC to MC31.0.78 or MC31.0.80
Both Sonoma 14.1 and MC31.0.78/80 contain corrections, by both Apple and MC, to whatever it was that was causing the MC Menus to Freeze.

I was using MC31.0.78. Updating Sonoma to the most recent version (as of 2023-11-12) fixed it. The UI is back to normal.
Thank you, EnglishTiger, for your guidance and responsiveness - I appreciate it.
