Still getting an occasional CTD, but not as bad as before. Still, would much prefer no CTDs. ;) Enclosed is the Problem Report. I am running Sonoma 14.0
-
I've been using MC for almost a decade. I've been a Mac guy for more than a decade. I've been in IT for 30 years. I don't know what a CTD is. Is that some new term for a program crash?
Generally speaking, the MC developers need a JRiver log to really pin down why crashes happen. The system report is sometimes useful as well, but the MC log is usually what they want.

You are correct, my apologies. This is not a Crash to Desktop (CTD), rather the application crashes. The Mac problem report was included in my original message.
-
If you know what things tend to encourage MC to crash, I suggest that you turn on logging and then do those things to make MC crash. Then restart MC and collect the log. That log can tell the JRiver team a lot about what's going on. You can even read it yourself if you'd like.
More information on how to enable and use logging in MC:
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Logging
Best of luck to you.
PS: Now I have to go look up Crash To Desktop and what that means in the Mac world... :)
Brian.

Not much to see in the crash report.
Can you try the current build (77)?
-
I was on Build 71. I did not see a link for Build 77, but there was one for Build 80, so I just installed that version.
The event is not re-creatable, but it does always occur after the same action. That action is the completion of playing the last song on an album. When it happens, it will be within one to two seconds after the last song is over. JRiver will close, and the Mac error message screen will appear.

Ok, can you turn on logging? You can use a small log rotation size so it doesn't use up a lot of disk space and when it happens again post the log here. Thanks.

I have logging enabled with a 50MB auto reset.

Great. Please post a log when you get a crash.
Are you using Last.FM ?
Is cover art lookup for missing cover art turned on in your settings?
Trying to figure out what else could trigger at a track end.
-
No Last FM, and all of my cover art is "inside file". I will post when... or better yet... "if" it happens again. :)

Since moving to 31.0.80, no issues.
