Title: Invisible external drive
Post by: fredhammersmith on November 09, 2023, 08:47:02 am
Hello. Is there a reason why JRiver wouldn't see an externally connected USB drive, while my iMac and its iTunes player do?
The setup is as follows:

My Macs use drives formatted as Mac Extended and AFPS.  All of them have files that MC can import and play and use.

Can you describe what you are trying to do and what happens?  Perhaps with a screen shot if it's not easy to explain.

Generally speaking, you need to run an Import, or set up Auto Import in order for MC to access files on your drives.

Is it normal that there is no arrow on the right here, and that I cannot open the Drives and Devices section?
I can "play" on the external drive, but I cannot import it. Any clue?

Drives & Devices doesn't work on Mac like it does on Windows.  D&D only shows CDs and user defined sync devices (like portable MP3 players).  It does not show any "drives".

I'm sure you can import from your external drive.  Do this:

Tools > Import > Import a single folder > select your drive and folder

It should work just fine from there.
