Title: Moving a single video file->Moves all Sidecar Files
Post by: Manfred on November 22, 2023, 04:18:22 am
I have moved a single video file to a new folder.

All Sidecar Files of all videos are moved and not only the ones associated to the file.

Any Idea?

I assume you had many videos+sidecars in the same folder, and when moving one of the videos with MC it also moved all other sidecars that were in the same folder. If so, sounds like an MC bug.
Solution: move them back or do an "Update Tags (from library)" to re-generate them.

Yes.

I moved the single file back and all Sidecarfiles were moved back. (it was a test before moving many-> so I don't do it now before clarification)

I think its a bug?

I think you may have checked the 'Move all non-imported files in folder with selected media files' option in 'Rename, Move & Copy files'.

If this option is unchecked then a video file will be moved with only it's associated sidecar file and jpg image file, if it is checked then ALL sidecar files (and jpgs etc) in the folder will be moved to the new folder location.
