Title: Cd Burning Problem... still.
Post by: ErnRenner on February 08, 2003, 02:32:11 pm
:-/ Hey, I've tried to burn CD's from Mj8, and now MC9... both burn the cd fine, and it works aferwards on regular CD players, but I have to restart my computer in order for the CD-Rom to work again. I can play CD's through MC9, but after it burns a CD it screws up. I've checked the registry, autorun=0 and everything is set like suggested on the website for Win XP... Any feedback?  :-/

2. Uninstall Easy cd creator
3. uninstall nero

I use windows XP it works fine here. some burner software may conflict.

I have the same problem as Ern.  Boffs info below.

I do have easy CD creator installed... but if I uninstall it can I use mediacentre for my boring run-of-the-mill .doc, .jpg and .whatever I happen to have that needs backing up CD writing too?

Just want to check before I go uninstalling something I need.

I haven't seen any conflict problems w/ ECDC ( at least w/ MJ v8 )...and the latest Nero has been reported to be conflict free. For either make sure you have latest version.

To turn off XP burning do the following...

Right clicking on the My Computer icon and select properties.
Find your RW drive and right click on icon. Select Drive properties.
Go to the Recording tab and uncheck "Enable CD recording on this drive"
Reboot

You should check the manufacturer of the cdrom's web site to see if that model has a firmware revision.   I have seen updated firmware take care of many problems with burning cd's (and dvd's)
