Howdy all,
I have my Media Server setup on one PC, and I have a new laptop on the same network. Installed MC31 on the laptop and I wanted to use it in a read-only fashion with my main library on the Media Server. I connected to the Library Server and everything displays and works great. I figured Party Mode is what I should use for the read-only setup, so when I toggled Party Mode on, none of the Cover Art, Image or Video thumbnails display, only icons for everything. Everything plays fine when played just no image based previews. Is this a limit of Party Mode being used remotely or do I need to do something before starting Party Mode to cache everything locally on the laptop to get the cover art & thumbnails to display? Should I be using something else for this type or remote read-only user access? TIA!

If you connect to a library server without authentication, it will automatically be in read-only mode.
If you want authentication, you can set read-only credentials in options under Media Network.

Thank you Marko. I did not realize that un-authenticated connections when on LAN were read only by default, which makes total sense, duh. I usually just consume without thinking when using local remote so never really noticed. I wonder how many times over the last +20 years I thought I made some little adjustment in ratings and such remotely that didn't stick LOL. Thanks again.
