What's wrong with these JPG's?
These JPG's all open perfectly in Windows 10 photo viewer and all other programs I try such as ZoomPlayer, VideoLAN, Windows Media Player, MS Paint, MS Paint 3D, Firefox, Chrome, Edged, Gimp, IrfanView, XnView, Darktable, Fotosizer, etc.
So why can't MC open them?

for the last one, the log says
0009125: 140045828748992: General: CTurboJpegHelper::LoadJPEG: Error reading image header: tjDecompressHeader3(): Could not determine subsampling type for JPEG image

Thanks. I'm not proficient in github, but it appears that this error was reported to libjpeg-turbo in Jan 2019 and seems to be marked as "fixed". I guess JRiver should update it's libjpeg-turbo version, or tweak whatever "jpg driver" they are using?

These images should work in MC32 when it is released in a few weeks.
