Title: Feature Request: Bring Back Normalization!
Post by: PsychShack on February 12, 2003, 10:22:04 pm
I like the way the DSP Effects work with CD burning in MC9.  However, using Replay Gain on a CD (even when it is set to an adjustment of +10 or so) causes the CDs to come out quieter than the average audio CD.  Can you please bring back the option to normalize tracks before burning to a CD?  Thank you very much.

We plan to add that to the Replay Gain settings, so one of the choices would be "peak normalization". It seems to make sense to keep all the audio modification options in one place (dsp studio).

However, if you select replay gain in the dsp studio and select "automatic based on current playlist" in the adjustment option, it *should* make all the tracks as loud as the loudest track in the playlist you're burning. That way, you should be able to leave the volume on your cd player at the same setting while you play the CD.

OK thanks, that'll be good when that's added.  Yeah, I tried the Automatic option, but I had one song in the list that was only about -6 or so, so it wouldn't get much louder.
