Title: Video "stuttering" when viewed with JRiver
Post by: Sky King on January 29, 2024, 04:50:38 am
I am experiencing an issue with MC 31, latest version, when I play back a 3840 x 1744 mkv video in that the picture stutters along jerkily from start to finish.  Playing the same file on the same computer with VLC media player produces a smooth video presentation.

Is there something in MC that I need to adjust?

Thank you.

Try Red October settings.

Thanks Jim.  I will "hunt" for that.

Another option to try is toggling hardware accelerated decoding in the Video settings.

Thanks Hendrik.  One of my computers has Red October set to JRVR.  I do have a fast computer so maybe I'll give madVR a go as well as toggling off the decoding as you mentioned as it's currently set to "on".

Leave the acceleration on, and try to set the JRVR Quality Preset to "performance".
Make sure you have the proper graphics driver installed, not the Microsoft default one.

Thanks all.  The issue may be with the particular fanless computer that I was using to view the video.  The graphics card on the Intel NUC may be running out of gas.  There was no stuttering on a computer with better graphics.
