With versions 9.0.107 and 9.0.108 I am unable to open MC. I get a message "Media Core has encountered a problem and must close". I had installed both of these versions over the previous versions as I have for most all of the MC 9 builds. My system Info is posted in the 9.0.107 thread.
Jim H. posted the following and I am sorry, but I do need help in knowing how to do what he is suggesting.
Joe,
You can try deleting the registry keys for MC. A search here should find you help on that.
If you need more help, start a new thread.
Jim
Thank you for any help. Joe Karnes

Try a search for registry. Search is above.

Jim H., I am pretty dense and I apoligize for some of my questions. I did as you indicated and did a search for registry. After reading through the results, I felt like uninstall with remove all Media Center registry entries was my best choice as was advised by several post. I did uninstall and removed registry entries and then re installed MC 9.0.108. I still have the same problem and am unable to open MC. Thank you, Joe Karnes

Joe,
You are a first-rate user. No need to apologize ever.
If the problem isn't in the registry, then it may be in the database. Try clearing your libary and reimporting.
Here's a link that describes where the database jmd files are:
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/buy_faq_switching.html
You may need to remove them. You will lose playlists and other similar data, but you can reimport your files.

Jim, I deleted all the database mjd files and still could not open MC9.0.108. I did a re-install and when MC tried to open the Media Core message encountered a problem came up again. I then did another uninstall and also did a search for any MJB MC and J River files and deleted any that I found. I then downloaded MJB 8 off the Media Jukebox web page and it worked fine. I then downloaded the last stable version of MC from the interact page of MJB. MC installed, opened and shows to be registered to me. The problem is that now I can not import my MP3 library. My 3500 MP3 files are all still on my F drive and that is where I directed MC to import from.
I will watch for the next new MC build and see if that will work for me. Thank you for your help. Joe Karnes

I have still been unable to import any MP3 files into MC.
I also just tried to play an audio CD on both my D and E drive and neither would do anything. There is no display of track information to select for play and if I right click on either drive and choose play a pop-up of "Please select file(s) to Play" appears. Thank you, Joe Karnes

I just installed MC 9.0.109 and everything seems to be working fine for me again. Thank you very much.
