Title: Can you apply EQ while ripping to MP3?

Now that I have about 50 hours of music ripped and loaded on my WiPod, the differences in overall tonal balance among different CDs becomes very evident.  This is probably also exagerated by listening with earbuds rather than through speakers.  Is there a plug in for MC or another program that will let me apply equalization while ripping, preferably right to MP3 (VBR - high quality), but if I had to work in WAV format to EQ, and then convert to MP3 that would be acceptable too.
