Title: My outputs suddenly at 48 kHz Sampling Rate
Post by: GeorgeBoles on May 27, 2024, 11:44:55 pm
Dear All,

All of a sudden, after I broke my computer by fiddling around with the operating system, my DAC now always shows that my outputs are resampled to 48kHz. I have no idea how I did this, but could you help return my JRiver to play whatever the native resolution of the files are, please?

Looking at the little settings icon in the top bar, I see:

Adjust volume by -7.5 dB for Internal Volume
Resample 96 kHz to 48 with SSRC

My current version is JRiver 28.0.110 (Intel) for Mac.

With best regards,
George.

Look at DSP Studio > Output Settings in MC.

Thanks Jim.

I unclicked Output Format and all went back to normal.

Regards,
George.

It's probably because you tried to play a file with a sample rate you DAC doesn't support. You can disable the automatic format handling here:
Tools->Options->Audio->Advanced->Auto configure output settings on playback error
and configure the output format on DSP studio to only handle the sample rates or number of channels to files your DAC can't handle natively.
