Hi everyone, I have a notebook connected via USB only to the DAC, no NAS, no external HD.
both jriver and music are on the same ssd.
Ever since I had jriver 23 (now I have the 26) I always have to wait at least 3 or 4 minutes at startup (if I touch something it doesn't respond and I have to wait).
this is very frustrating, does anyone have any ideas for me? I looked on the forum, I saw some 3D about it, but I don't know how to do it.
I would like to upgrade to 32, but I'm afraid the problem will remain.
thank you

sorry, I forgot a "small" detail.
JRiver doesn't freeze at startup, it only does so when I press PLAY, it stays locked for 1\2 minutes and then starts.

Please try v32. It's free to try.
If the problem remains, provide a log showing you start playback.
Thanks.

I want to try jriver 33, it's even worse than the current 26. :(
I'm desperate, now it's even gotten worse because before it started correctly and froze the moment I pressed play on a track, now it stays frozen even at startup for about 20\25 seconds.
Here on the forum I saw a guide on the problems that Windows Defender can cause, but my Windows Antivirus is deactivated due to I don't know what error, there is a button to restart it, but at the end of the procedure it still doesn't restart.
I have to fix it because using dirac I don't have any great alternatives, I just don't know where to look anymore.

Funny how you quote a reply asking you to provide a log but still don't ::)
- go to Help->Logging menu and enable it
- restart MC and reproduce the problem
- go to logging menu again and get the logfile from there, attach it here.

That may be a clue. You may have another antivirus program installed and running.

That's a potential big red flag here and could be a sign of either a messed up Windows install or worse a hardware issue of some type. If you don't have any other antivirus and Windows Defender is not working/messed up, chances are you have much worse/deeper issues with your PC which likely would be the cause of your MC issue(s) here. What you're describing is not typical behavior at all and sounds like there's some much deeper issue(s) there.
I would highly recommend backing up all your music files on external storage (like a portable hard drive or something) because it's bad practice to keep all your media on the same drive Windows is installed on. If something goes wrong (which I'd say there's a good chance of happening here) and you're forced to reformat Windows or the notebook breaks down and you have to get a new PC then you lose all your files. Having to reinstall Windows or get a new PC sucks, but it's even worse if you lose all your media and have to start over.

I found the problem!! SPYBOT & DESTROY was running in the background, I uninstalled it and everything is perfect!

Thanks for reporting what you found.
