Calling all windows gurus... I currently use Chrome Remote Desktop to manage all the PC's in my home, and some family PC's outside my home.
My problem is with (Intel display) laptops that have the lid closed. They don't like to display windows native apps and settings. I'm really tired of trying to work around this issue, and a new Windows 11 Intel Xe graphics has made it IMPOSSIBLE to overcome. When this new laptop lid is closed, I cannot open ANYTHING AT ALL remotely.
I've already made sure that all the settings on this new laptop are set to NOT turn the display off or sleep when the lid is closed. I am 100% sure it is not sleeping, but the display is turning off. I can remote into it fine, but cannot make anything come up on the screen until I walk over and open the lid, then stuff pops right up.
Are there other tricks? Is there another remote software that can overcome this?

Try setting a black-screen screensaver, and set the lid-close action to "do nothing".

Solved by using "virtual display driver": https://github.com/itsmikethetech/Virtual-Display-Driver
