How can I stop a folder from Importing please
-
By making sure the folder you don't want imported isn't in a folder that is being watched by MC for auto-import.
You can't exclude folders within folders being watched for auto-import. You have to make sure they're not in a watched folder.
-
MMM that makes it hard, It is a folder that is in a watched folder.
I thought maybe if I put a dot or star in front of that folder it would ignore it
-
It would be nice if MC could skip folders that contain some marker file like ".mcignore" for instance. Sometimes I just need a temporary skip while playing with the folder structure/content, or when there's a particular movie/series folder that is not yet ready for import.

Set up Auto-Import. Check the wiki. You can edit and exclude folders.
-
On the drive that I scan I have 3 folders,
1. Movies
2. TV
3. Documents
I wanted to exclude 3 Documents
I went to auto import but could not see any of the folders
-
Add the folders there.
Add anything you want to exclude there.
-
I have excluded this folder and all child folders using S:\documents
This is still scanning the folder and it added two music files
How do i fix this please
-
I don't know. Is there a NAS involved?

Hi AD, I have, amongst others...
Watched: F:\Incoming\Music
Excluded: F:\Incoming\Music\Upgrade
Watched: D:\Pictures\ [System Images Folder]
Excluded: D:\Pictures\Lightroom
And these have both worked perfectly for more than a decade. Why might your experience be different?

think I just worked it out.
I had not unticked the tasks underneath
