Title: MKV files always imported with Media SubType Music Video
Post by: curiousMonkey on June 22, 2024, 12:56:21 pm
I have been adding some new films to my collection over the last few weeks. I noticed that the files always have SubType Music Video which then blocks importing the details about the film since the files aren't considered films. Is there some setting I am not aware of that defines the default value for SubType? It would be really nice if I could set it back to Movies so I don't have to keep editing the tags for each file I import.

Tools > Import > Configure Auto Import > select your movie directory and click EDIT > add "Media Sub Type: Movie" in the "Apply these Tags" box.

You can edit the Media Sub-type tag.

I went ahead and setup Auto import, that seems to be working fine. It does complicate things in my particular situation since I was trying to isolate the JRiver system from my NAS and disable write access to the Movie directory by default. If I manually import all new files, I can be sure that write access is enabled. That is a recent change, I thought it was a good idea at the time to prevent accidental changes to the NAS. I keep TV recordings in a separate directory with full write access at all times.
