I would REALLY like MJ/MC to be able to WATCH folders that I specify and import any files according to my file associations!
-
Already been asked for many times but just putting my vote in case you guys are going to use this thread as an indication of how desired this feature is.
-
What is the use of "Watch Folders"? I am just curious.
Is it different from manually importing directories including sub-directories?
-
It means that MJ will automatically detect it when you get more music and and save it in your music dir.
-
My vote here as well.
I saw a previous thread about slow scanning plus various disadvantages in WMP9, but I have to disagree there. The slow 'watch folders' only occurs when you haven't imported your files into the library. If you have an existing library and add a few files to the watched directory, the watch folders works like a charm!

If so, my vote here, too.
;D

Add my vote to adding this functionality.
It would also be nice to be able to manually kick off the "Check Watch Folders" function, as well as control how often the automatic check takes place.
-
This could be a pretty simple interface ..
Create a "WATCH FOLDERS" list
Have a checkbox for XX Check WATCH FOLDERS every (TEXT BOX) Hours for new files.
This could easily use the Media Scheduler to set a scheduled event to run MJEXTMAN.exe and import according to the directories set!!!

Thought about it, thinking of how MS might have come up with a solution for it with WMP...
Perhaps an easy and not too resource demanding way to go about it would be to check the folder size now and then? For instance, if the xx folder has the size of 1gb when checked for the first time, and later the folder size is 1,3 gb, then check for new files. Could that work?
