Hi. MC32 has developed an issue. Takes longer to load, the Macbook fan immediately begins hissing, then spinning wheel every second, interrupting playback. Any advice appreciated
-
I've switched back to MC26 for the time being without any problems, if that information is of any help
-
Are all permissions for MC32 granted?

-
I don't remember refusing any permissions. Is there a way to check?
-
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I didn't get any prompts about permissions. The issue persists
-
Look in macOS' settings for permissions, you should be able to go through and see if they're granted for MC there.
-
Thanks. I went to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility. There's an option to "Allow the apps below to control your computer". Neither MC26 or MC32 were ticked. I ticked MC32 but it hasn't fixed the issue -- still hanging and ramping up the Macbook's fan
-
Did you reboot?
-
I didn't. I have now and it's not hanging, but stalling briefly every second, causing a stuttering effect
-
Local files or NAS or USB drive? Please describe your setup.
-
Local files, USB
-
Describe how you're using USB.
Try unplugging any USB.
Try power cycling (not just rebooting) your computer and all devices on your network, including the cable modem or equivalent.
Unplug other devices on the network.
-
Just tried power cycling the computer and devices including turning the modem off and on again, but the persistent brief audio drop outs continue
Not sure I understand the question about how I'm using USB, but the EHD is connected to the Macbook by USB-C with an adaptor for the Mac's USB-A port. The DAC is also connected by USB but without an adaptor (ie it is USB-A). Sorry if I've misunderstood you.
In any case, as I said, MC26 works fine with the same devices
-
I just remembered some advice I got on another occasion and increased prebuffering to 20 seconds. It's still a bit stuttery unfortunately, but a lot better than it was
-
Try a test library of local files only.
-
Seems OK now. I left everything turned off and power disconnected overnight. Thanks to both of you for your help

Thanks for letting us know.
