Title: JRiver play back no longer plays music
Post by: Balmer on August 01, 2024, 01:29:29 pm
Yesterday everything worked perfectly.  Today I turned JRiver on as usual, but everything went Bonkers. Red minus signs popped up everywhere in front of the song names. I tried to play the songs, but a weird sign then popped up saying "Check that the file name in the library matches the file name on the disk"

This sign makes no sense at all. From the time when I turned off the computer until I turned it back on, no changes were made that would cause such a strange behavior in the JRiver Program except a glitch in the software. No, I am not about to reload the CDs back into the program.

Sounds like your folders/files can't be found.

Go into File explorer and see if it sees the folder where the files are kept.

A fix may be as simple as restarting the computer.

Sometimes, if you plug in a new device, like a USB drive, it is assigned the wrong drive letter by Windows.  What was D: becomes E:, for example.  Or vice versa.  You can fix that.  Try Google to learn more.
