Title: Parts Missing
Post by: joetiii on August 08, 2024, 06:09:03 pm
It seems I am having problems with MC 32 loading, crashing and other issues I've never had with all my previous versions.

Some days I load the program and notice I am missing my Car Radio stations. Other days, my saved web media station goes missing.

Other times , I launch the program and I get the message that MC32 was not shut down properly and it loads the default settings.

Today, MC loaded  and I do not see any of the streaming channels ... radio paradise, radio Swiss classifieds.

I am using the same laptop with  win10.

I find myself  uninstalling and reloading the program.

What antivirus are you using?

An unreliable drive?  NAS?

Don't uninstall and reinstall.  It won't help.

I have MC28 running with no issues .
No aftermarket anti-virus

I am using a NAS where my files are housed.

I assume you haven't tamed Windows Defender for MC32? These kind of weird issues (like MC slowly opening) can happen unless you do because Defender is likely either scanning or sending MC's files to their servers for scanning.

That MC28 is running doesn't eliminate the possibility that antivirus is a problem.

Update the NAS firmware.

I think you're just having trouble reading from the drives.  That could be antivirus.  Could be a NAS bug.  Could be a failing drive.

Well I added all my folders to the exception list but can not find these system files on my computer.

And The issue that rears its ugly head everything is that when I use Gizmo to make a rating change to a song, the entire program on the laptop closes.

It'd be MC32.exe in MC32's case. Same applies to any version.

Thanks Donkey... I see my mistake. I was looking for a folder, not the executable.

Now that I have added all the folders and file exceptions, Gizmo seems to be working properly and the program has not crashed in 24 hours.

One thing I am still having an issue with is that I am creating a Playchart under Car Radio and the Playcharts mysteriously disappear on a random basis. Not sure if this is related to the Defender issue. But... Streaming was disappearing from my program before I added all the exceptions.

Yes... I have added all the exclusions in Defender and that cured all but this one problem.

Only using defender and the NAS Drive is practically brand new. I lost my Library when the NAS crashed so now I am rebuilding. Grrr
