Title: After forced import - entries in playlists disappear
Post by: PerhapsPerhaps on August 24, 2024, 03:02:49 pm
I ran a manual import which resulted in entries of some titles disappearing in playlists they were associated with.

This is catastrophic for me, as playlists are something very important to me and re-creating is not easy.

I have a very large library and the auto import is not always working flawlessly, hence the forced import run. This surfaces often on top of the Recently Imported view, entries which were already imported. The missing playlist titles are only in conjunction with these albums.

The files are on a NAS and I run a MacMini with JRiver MC 33.

Any idea what happened and how it can be avoided in the future?

Cheers PerhapsPerhaps

Backup your library and restore from a previous backup.

Thank you for the quick response. That would give me back my playlists to a certain point, I understand. But then I would have to run an auto-import again to regain new additions up to the point in time of the backup, wouldn’t I? And given the erratic behaviour of the software after the last import, I am afraid to do this.

Anything I could have done wrong executing the import to avoid the problem moving forward?

Manual import of a single folder?
Are auto imports completely disabled??
Matt checked and the logic for checking existing files doesn't apply to single folder imports (single folder includes underlying folders).
