Title: Q: How to get sys vars like [elapsed time] t display on Theater View Info screen
Post by: rbmjr on August 26, 2024, 12:05:28 pm
Thought it would be easy, just copy the system variables from the playing now and paste them in to the Info screen in Theater View. Instead they just appear as [Elapsed Time] instead of displaying their value. Is there a special way of coding these so that their values will display on the Info screen in Theater View?

Anyone have any idea how to do this?

I am not 100% sure on this,  but I believe those functions are only available on the player bar and will not work anywhere else.

Sounds like a feature request is needed

Agreed. I would love to have these work in Theater View. Why not? Should be easy, right?

Only the playing now display has the context to query the player for the current playback data - generic views do not have access to that information I'm afraid.

What's that context and why isn't it available in Theater View?
