Title: What makes an album "incomplete"? [SOLVED]
Post by: Striker on October 03, 2024, 03:25:55 pm
I have 2 albums I recently purchased on-line in flac format.

I've deleted some of the tracks and re-numbered them to consecutive order starting at 1.  The SmartList shows them as "incomplete".

I look at the tag window, all fields... and the only differences I see are expected, like name and track number and volume leveling values, etc...

Disc # usually gets me.. but this field is blank for both albums.

Any hints would be appreciated.

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Multiple_Artist_Albums#Complete_Albums

all tracks are of [Media Type]=Audio
all tracks have exactly the same, non-empty [Album] value
all tracks are in the same folder - i.e. have the same value for the [Filename (path)] field
all tracks have sequential [Track #] values starting at 1
all tracks have the same, or sequentially increasing [Disc #] values (empty and 1 are considered the same)

Same Folder is often the culprit.

[Media Type]  maybe?

Thanks for the reply.  This is frustrating.  I feel like I'm blindly missing something.

The tag windows shows all the above values for this album the same other than Track #

This album has only 2 tracks remaining.... Track # is 1 and 2.

I think it has to be 10 minutes of audio also.

Both albums are > 10 minutes total.

Album 1:  10:52 / 2 tracks
Album 2:  31:43 / 6 tracks

Is the [complete album] tag true (1) for all the tracks? Stretching here - I understand your frustration.

The "Complete Album" field is blank for these albums and "1" for other albums that are complete IMHO.

Running out of ideas.

Well... I figured it out, my bad as usual.

I had other tracks imported from those albums which I'd rated 1 which my views don't show unless I use the Admin account (not the right word).  So they were imported and the "incomplete album" was correct, but I couldn't see them in my views.

Thanks DTC for trying to help.

Glad you found it.

I also noticed that [Album Artist] was different on the 2 albums. I did not look into it further.
