Title: Can't find Bruce Willis
Post by: moobox on October 20, 2024, 07:40:20 am
When I search Bruce Willis in search filed : No result

I've got some iso with Bruce willis as Actor. I can find it in actors fields, but the search function is a bit dumb. I try by adding actors in the view Video/Files without success

Search works for the current view.

Try [Actor]=Bruce Willis

I try [Actors]=Bruce Willis without success in the correct view

I can see the fileds Actors. Inside there's bruce willis. But JRiver seems to not look inside it.

Actors isn't a default search field by default. You can switch with Manage Library Fields.

I believe [Actors]=Bruce Willis does not require setting the field as a default search field? That's for when you type just "Bruce Willis".

Technically it should be [Actors]="Bruce Willis" or [Actors]=[Bruce Willis]. Note that this will not find "Willis, Bruce" or other variations.
Maybe try using the Wizard to build the search query or to see what it's converting the text to.

Edit: OK, with [Actors]=Bruce Willis (without quotes) it may fail when Actors is not a default search field because it's actually searching for [Actors]=Bruce AND Willis, ie, files with Bruce in [Actors] and with Willis in any of the other default search fields.
