Title: Recorded TV in .ts format - no sound on Android
Post by: mx4789 on October 27, 2024, 02:51:31 pm
I can copy a TV show recorded in .ts format to a thumb drive and it is playable on Linux (video & audio), but I only get video when using a cheap Android tablet. Any ideas? Not super crazy important, but I was monkeying around with it this weekend just to see if it would even work...

Try a different Player App. I use "MX Player" and TV .ts files play fine.

Thanks for the input.  I tried the MX player and messed around with the sound settings, but no luck.  I'll poke around some more and see what happens. Other videos play ok with sound so I know it's not the tablet.  It's like it's missing a sound file or something?

Interestingly enough, both Linux & Android "see" one .ts file as a multimedia file and the other .ts file as a text file... Yet they both play, just no sound on the Android.  Like I said, it's just a cheap ($75) tablet I use when traveling or camping that I consider to be disposable if something happened to it.  Of course that makes it really annoying to actually try to do anything with it file wise other than just stream netflix or watch videos I saved to the SD card.

Thanks again!
