Title: JRiver 33.0.37 - playback hickups using MadVR
Post by: SummerOf69 on November 10, 2024, 08:44:04 am
Hi,

yesterday I noticed a playback hickup running MadVR as a renderer in JRiver (33.0.37).
I picked quite a high quality presets (NGU, very high), the rendering time is around 15-17ms. Should be fine though.

Running JRVR results in a steady, smooth 24p output.
The issue with MadVR is new to me, it ran well with previous versions (MC26 as well as earlier MC33 versions). I cannot say at which subversion it stated to happen.
I´d really like to stick with MadVR if possible due to the still noticeable difference in image quality.

Is anyone else facing this issue?

Kind regards,
Sebastian

what is a "playback hickup" precisely?

It´s a bit imprecisely expressed, I admit  :)
With hickup I meant a short, noticeable stutter every view seconds, like a framedrop.

May I ask, MadVR running NGU still runs fine at your machine with JRiver 33.0.37?

Thanks for confirming. I´ll try with an older version of JRiver at some point to check if its coused by JR on my system or by third party software.

For my system at least the described issue (hiccups, or framedrops) keeps on existing with the current 33.0.43 using MadVR.
I switched to JRVR. No issues here.
