Title: Library Restore From Much Older Version-Settings Only
Post by: Splungeworthy on December 10, 2024, 07:36:50 pm
I want to restore the library settings from a copy of MC21 to my brand spanking new version of MC33, but ONLY the settings. I created many zones based off of headphones and I want to bring those meticulous settings to 33 rather than spend hours trying to recreate them manually. What can I expect if I do a library restore from 21 to 33, settings only?

Do a library backup in MC21, then in MC33 restore that library backup (restoring only settings and not the library itself) and you should be good to go.

I don't think settings were part of a backup that long ago (MC21).  It's worth trying though.

You may want to do it in a two step process. Do a library restore to an intermediate version that does backup settings separately and then a backup of that with just settings to be used on MC33.

I tried this, but it didn't have the effect I wanted (it didn't restore all of the headphone zones I created, even though they're still there in the library backup file). I'll have to build them all back manually.
