Title: Transferring library to new PC
Post by: 91Tyler on December 14, 2024, 02:04:55 pm
So I finally got a dedicated fanless audio PC! YAY! But when I synced my new PC to my music library I was missing a ton of album artwork and tagged information! I have spent a lot of time tagging, sorting and getting good album artwork, how do I make sure all that stuff is transferred over to my new PC too. (My music collection is stored on an external SSD)

Thank you in advance for your help, helpful people!  ;)

Try:
Backup library (with thumbnails) on old machine. File>Library>Backup.
Locate that backup zip on the old machine (C:\Users\name\Documents\JRiver\Media Center 33\Library Backups\backup.zip).
Copy that backup.zip file to the Desktop of the new machine.
Run MC on the new machine, File>Library>Restore (point to the backup.zip you just saved on the Desktop).
Restart MC if needed.
