Title: JRiver Remote can't connect
Post by: baldo on December 26, 2024, 04:48:37 am
I can't get JRiver to connect on my iphone or on my Android tablet.

I tried to delete the server and add a new server via the access key and it refuses to connect.

I even deleted the server from both the iphone and the laptop and set up a completely new access key and even that does not work.

It says it found 3 addresses on port 52199 and they all timed out. they are three different ip addresses.

I really need to get this working and would appreciate any help.

Let me know what you need from me to be able to help.

Happy Holidays.

I paused the Firewall and still got the same issue.

I also googled the above and I get this page

Which I followed but still can't get the thing to work.

Did you configure Windows Defender?

what configurations do I need to do in Windows Defender?

BTW,  JRemote works fine with my Mac. The issue is on a W10 laptop.

Thanks for your help over the holiday season. Much appreciated.

Window Defender thread https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114101.0.html (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,114101.0.html).

Are all 3 devices on the same network/wifi within your home or are some outside?  If the ones that can't connect are outside your home network, the issue is probably related to port forwarding within your modem/router and/or an IP address change. In my experience, the most consistent connectivity to the media server requires an internal static IP to be set on the network connection for that device.

Read Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access) on the Wiki.
