Windows => JRiver Media Center 33 for Windows => Topic started by: duncan4791 on December 27, 2024, 12:15:21 pm

This may have been asked before:
On both my Windows and Raspberry Pi OS copies of Mediacenter 33 the Playing now screen shows the full meta data for a playing cd then within a second just shows the album art, seq no. and track no. This happens whether I'm on the local library or loaded a remote library. When streaming from Radio JRiver the music plays but the track list in Playing Now is blank, as above.
Since the full data is displayed when I switch from Recent Albums and then just disappears I don't think this is a setting problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Duncan

That isn't normal. Maybe security software is interfering?
-
I don't have security software, that I know about, on Raspberry Pi OS. Windows is 24H1 or whatever it's called. It's not a big problem since I don't look at Playing Now but still!

What audio device are you playing to? Local or DLNA renderer??
-
Windows works fine if everything is local. When streaming from Raspberry Pi OS Media Center 33 server the playing now is only track number and seq numbers. Problem is on the Raspberry Pi OS based Media Center 33 when playing and rendering locally on the Pi the playing now is still only track number and seq. It appears that the Linux Raspberry Pi OS version on a Pi 5 using Wayland and Wayfire or the new labwc compositor the problem appears. The play list is setup but once you switch the the playing now view it disappears.
Sorry for the delay responding, Thanks Duncan

MC doesn't support Wayland and relies on XWayland though issues may happen, if possible you should use X11.

That may explain it. However, this is a general purpose computer that keeps MC on all the time, but I use it for other things that now do support or require Wayland. So if this is a compatibility issue then OK I'll live with it. If I just had this like idPi as only a server then everything would be fine.
Thanks for help.
