That is how I installed it. ;)  Granted, I didn't pass any options in. I was reading on another (unrelated to media center) search that this could be due to wayland but I am X11 bridge installed.

I also thought it might have something to do with Chrome being installed via flatpack so I installed the rpm version and same problem.

Well, MC doesn't support Wayland (it runs through XWayland, though there may be issues) so if you have an X11 session you might try using that and see if you can reproduce the issue there.

It looks like a graphics driver issue, have you tried the nvidia proprietary driver or vice versa (nouveau)?
