Title: problem when using the image editor

hi, a bit of a complicated problem but happens to me 90 % of the time, and already for a long time.

att1:
i have two views and view 1 is locked, and all the tabs are locked
now i open an image file that is not imported via the rightckick menue in windows, the image opens in the right zone 'Video & Pictures'. Now i rightclick on the image and choose edit image.

Att 2:
The image editor opens  (Locked ?) in view 1 (which is locked!) pushing away the playing now from zone Music (which was also a locked tab)
now if i click on cancel in the image editor:

att3:
the playing now from zone music opens now in an unlocked tab in the unlocked view 2. closing the media editor is not possible without unlocking it first.

It seems like the editor should never be opened locked. Would that solve your issue?

yes it would, at least for a part, it should also not open in a locked view when using split views or kicking out an other locked tab.

PS: just an after thought. It would not be unlogical to let the 'edit image' have its own dedicated window, or?
