Linux => JRiver Media Center 33 for Linux => Topic started by: reigrae on January 23, 2025, 02:54:14 am

Hello everyone,
I have finally switched from Windows 10 to Linux Mint. I am very happy with it.
With Windows, my music data was under D:\Music. On Linux they are listed under /media/... . This now means that my approx. 100 playlists only list the tracks that are streamed by RadioJRiver.
Does anyone have an easy way to change the beginning of the path with the file name so that the file can be found again in the playlist?
I would appreciate your support.
Best regards
Reinhard

You can use Find and Replace. See Moving Files on the wiki.

How can I perform “find and replace” in the playlists only?
-
If you fix the paths of the files in the library, that should automatically fix them in the playlists, no?
-
Yes, that is correct.
I tried to rename the beginning of the file name via “Rename, move & copy files” (with activated find&replace D: --> /media/reinhard/data). I got the message “Not all selected files can be renamed”
Could the reason be that I am using MC32 on a virtual machine with Windows10?

Don't change the filename. The path is a different field.
Proceed cautiously.

When I look at the tags in the lower part of the screen, I see the File name column on the right-hand side. The file name is specified with the complete path. Here I would like to replace D: with /media/reinhard/data so that the playlist in Linux shows me this title. It would be good if this could be done with find & replace.
