I am running MC32 on an HP laptop using an Intel Core i7 processor with 16mb of memory running Windows 11 pro.
I am using an SMSL D300 dac which uses an XMOS driver. The dac uses the XMOS XU-208 receiver.
I am having an intermittent problem with JRiver becoming unstable randomly. By unstable, I mean when playing music, the music becomes louder and very distorted. Restarting JRiver does not solve the problem I have to reboot my computer in order to fix it which is annoying.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it?

What audio output and driver (ASIO, WASAPI, DirectSound, etc.) are you using?
-
I always use WASAPI.
-
If you're using a Thesycon/XMOS driver, I suggest that you try ASIO (which uses that driver). I have 3 different Topping DACs and use ASIO without issues with MC33.

Thanks for the advice. I am trying the ASIO setting. So far, no problems. However, I will need a day or two more when I can play the system for a few hours to see if the problem occurs.

With the January 14th windows update packages, support for older DAC drivers was screwed up to the point where a high number of DACs just stopped functioning on Windows 10 & 11.
The January 28th update preview packages fixed the problem.

With the January 14th update packages ...
Whose update packages?
-
The Windows updates for January broke some old DACs unfortunately. The only fix is to install the insider preview updates that were released two days ago.
