Title: Addition of webp extension to the "add from file" command
Post by: jack wallstreet on February 01, 2025, 09:03:00 am
(If this is not controlled by Windows) It would be nice to add the extension "webp" to the add from files so a user doesn't have to type *.* to see those files.  MC seems to handle the webp files very nicely, it just would save a step to automatically recognize them as an acceptable image file.

Did you associate webp file type with MC? Tools > Options > File Types, scroll down to Image section and select WebP Image, then check "File Association:" checkbox below.

Yaobing, I thought your suggestion would solve the issue, but it did not.  That option group does not appear to impact the "add from file" settings.  I could not find any indication they are controllable in Win 11, but I guess it could be a registry setting.  Attached is a picture of what the add a file window looks like

What do you mean with "Add From File" ? Where is that menu/dialog coming from, is it from within MC, Windows Explorer, or somewhere else?
Ah, Cover Art -> Add From File. I think MC needs a code fix to change the list of extensions on that filter.
