Hello,
I am wondering if it is possible (and if yes, how) to configure JRiver to support a 6.1 system?
By 6.1 I mean 5.1 plus a center back channel
Dirac Live Processor (the VST plugin) does support it so from that perspective I would be fine but not sure how to configure JRiver to make it work correctly
Thank you in advance

There's a recent thread somewhere that discusses that, but this should get you started: https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Surround_Sound

Thank you but that does not really help
I guess the ultimate question is how to downmix 7.1 to 6.1
What I was thinking is to mix the SL and SR channels (those that are normally behind you in 7.1 if I understand correctly) to mono and those would form the back center channel
Can anybody please confirm this?
Thank you

Shouldn't you be mixing RR/RL rather than SR/SL? Either way, the result may be too loud and localizable but DL should correct that.

I was thinking about downmixing the highlighted channels into mono (in the attachment)
Please let me know if that is not how it shall be done
Thank you
Volume is not an issue, I can control that separately in JRiver but also DL will do that as you mentioned correctly

Those are Rear speakers, not Surround speakers. So, RL and RR. Surrounds are on the side.
