I run JRiver on an Ubuntu Linux machine, with a USB DAC to my hi-end home system. Works fine.
What Iʻd like to do is to be able to manage and operate it remotely from an Android tablet. I hoped that JRemote3 would do that, but no, it just pulls sound files from my Linux box and plays them on the tablet.
Does JRiver Android enable me to manage/operate JRiver remotely on my Ubuntu machine?
Iʻm very much an RTFM kind of guy, but I have no idea where there might be a Fine Manual for anything JRiver.

In JRemote3 switch from the This Device zone to the Player zone and you can control the MC it's connected to (on Ubuntu in this case).
You can change the zone in JRemote3 by going to the JRemote3 main menu on the left side and at the bottom click the arrow next to This Device and you can select Player or whatever zone you wish to control.
JRiver for Android is basically JRiver Media Center running on Android which uses Panel as its UI.

That did it!
As we say in Hawaii, "Mahalo nui!"

The wiki and the forum.
And Google, if you add "JRiver" to your search.
