Title: Video freezes randomly with JRVR

I switched from MadVR to JRVR so that I could shift the subtitles of a Korean 4K film I wanted to watch. The subtitles worked great but the movie’s video froze at random place about 5 times during the 2 hour movie. Audio was not affected but I had to restart the movie to restore correct video playback.

This is a very small sample size so I tried to reproduce the problem with The Martian, a 4K movie that I have watched several times. Nothing unusual happened during the 20 minutes I left the movie playing so I obviously need to collect more data so that I can isolate the issue.

It just happened again, this time with a bluray, after about 90 minutes.

No. Two different movies, one 4K and one bluray. It happened one more time with a second 4k after about 40 minutes so I switched back to MadVR. The latest movie ran for about another hour without any problems. I plan on leaving things in MadVR until I need to handle subtitles again.

This is likely a driver problem.
