Title: MC cracks when I stop playing [Solved]
Post by: hartmut99 on February 14, 2025, 06:45:03 am
Hi,

I recently installed MC33 on an Mac Mini M1. I listen to music via an external DAC connected to the M1 via USB.

When I start playing a song or push the stop button I get a rather heavy "crack". When I push stop the music stops immediately and it takes around 1 second until I hear the crack. When I start playing the crack appears immediately. No such behavior if I use Pause or jump to the next song.

Any idea?

Problem is solved !!!

I opened the "Midi App" (looks like a keyboard) and saw that the songs were sent to the respective external DAC
with 48 kHz 16 Bit. The correct setting (for standard CD quality) is 44,1 kHz and 16 bit.
When I changed to this setting the cracks at the the beginning and at the end were gone.
