Every time I play a video in Display View I get a big bold popup saying 'Press escape to exit Display View', followed by 'Move mouse to edge of screen for controls. Press esc to exit'.
In some circumstances, such reminders can become very repetitive and irritating. In my case, I make regular PowerPoint presentations to a classical music society. Links to JRiver MC are included on many of the slides so that I can play video (and audio) extracts to illustrate my talks. I do this because MC offers greater capabilities than PowerPoint's native media playback.
Perhaps I need new glasses, but there does not appear to be an option to suppress all those unwanted popups. I would be very grateful if such an option could be added, as it would make my presentations look more slick and professional.

Options > General > Interface > Show on screen instructions

Options > General > Interface > Show on screen instructions
That's good to know :)
As the popups I wanted to suppress were both in Display View I had assumed that a search for 'display view' or 'popup' in the Options window would find any relevant options. It didn't occur to me that I needed to search for 'instructions'...

I've now found that while turning off Options > General > Interface > Show on screen instructions works fine when playing videos from within MC, it fails to stop the display of "Press escape to exit Display View" if you invoke playback via a .BAT file in the format shown below.
@echo off
MC33.exe /Clear
MC33.exe /Mode Display
MC33.exe /PlayReplace "C:\xxxxxxxx\My Video 1.mkv"
MC33.exe /PlayReplace "C:\xxxxxxxx\My Video 2.mkv"
MC33.exe /MCC 10078,1
The media links in my PowerPoint presentations all use batch files like that to invoke playback using MC, and I've failed to find any MC command that I could put in a batch file to turn off on-screen instructions. Sadly, my original problem therefore remains unresolved.

Press escape isn't an instruction today but I'll change it for a coming build. Thanks.

Thanks for that. It's much appreciated :)
BTW, I've just realised that if I turn 'Show on screen instructions' back on again, MC still doesn't show "Press escape to exit Display View" when playing a video direct from the MC window. That message appears to be limited to specific circumstances, such as when I invoke MC from a batch file.

Build with the change is public. Thanks.
Changed: Press escape to exit Display View no longer shows if instructions are turned off in options.
