Title: np driver studio or game driver?
Post by: tkolsto on February 28, 2025, 03:13:51 pm
Hi!

I just have a quick question. Does anybody here have any experience whether to use only studio drivers or does anybody here exeperienced that it is not relevant at all. I tend to think that it does not matter unless one waiting for a specific problem to be fixed like ex. audio issues..than one try at any time the latest. but studio does just say more stability but mentioning nothing about video rendering, nor does game drivers.

I have never come over somebody stating that studiodrivers is better for jriver. not once have I read that. often when something is fixed it was a gamedriver that did the trick.

I also would like to know what does the dev. do, game or studio...or just random?

I use Studio drivers for my HTPC as they are not updated as much and they are a good stable driver

I use Game ready drivers on my gaming PC as I play games at 165fps and they are updated quite often when new games come out or they "optimise" the drivers for existing games

There are also Notebook drivers that I believe help fan speed vs noise vs heat on laptops but this makes no difference on my set up (HTPC is a gaming spec laptop)

I use NVCleanstall to update drivers makes it very easy to install different drivers to test them (and to revert them when they have glitches)

Cheers Steve

Thank You for the response. I think I stick to studiodriver in the future too. But I have never read that jriver dev. have mentioned that it matters or even that one is better or preferred over the other.
