Title: Application(s) for face and geo tagging?

I have been using  Adobe Lightroom for a while to do face and geo tagging. In addition, i've used a 3rd Party plugin in Adobe to do reverse geocoding (fetching street, city, country based on latitude and longitude.

Does anyone have any alternatives to Lightroom which can do any or the tasks above?

I'd go for something more developed. This looks like an open source project in the making,
