I have the cursor at a certain position in a playlist or a view and change to another list/view.
When I switch back, the focus has gone and I have to search for that line again.
Is is possible the make JRiver MC to remember the last position?

Yes, as long as you use multiple tabs. If you use only a single tab and switch views via (left) clicking different tree items, it resets effectively everything because it's a "brand-new" view.
Instead of left-clicking tree items to switch views, middle click to create a new tab/view. This will preserve everything in your the original tab/view - cursor position, list style (details, thumbnails, tiles) and anything else unique to each view (until you explicitly modify it yourself).
Create as many tabs/views as desired via middle clicking tree items - pic below an example with 7 tabs (Note: MC ignores adding new tabs when the tab bar is full). With multiple tabs open, you can switch among all of them with their uniqueness maintained (Note: some things, such as a Pane's view expand/collapse state may change for multiple views when changed in 1 tab).
Also at the right end of the tab bar, is a small "new tab" button - clicking that creates a new "blank" tab.

Also note, you can lock tabs individually or all of them from the tab menu. When a tab is locked, even left clicking tree items creates a new tab to honor the locked tab status.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that. And thanks for the fast reply.
Sometimes I expect MC to behave like iTunes ;)
But this is even better!
