Title: Albums that won't take cover art
Post by: Mr Swordfish on April 08, 2025, 10:38:24 am
I'm having a problem with a couple of recently imported albums that won't accept cover art.

I select the album, hit ctrl+enter, either select one track or all of them, click "Paste from clipboard" and I see the artwork in the little window.  But when I come back, it's no longer there with the message <failed to load from inside file> and then the next time I look it says <no image>.

It doesn't appear to be a problem with the image file, since I've tried several and none of them work, while any of them can be added to other albums.  Seems to be something amiss with these two albums.  Both include compositions by Penderecki and both have audio files with long names. That's the only commonality I see.

And ideas?

Can you Update Tags from Library? That should narrow it down to a problem with the files in general or only with the image.

For what it's worth, when I have trouble getting cover art to set itself in the database, I execute "remove cover art" from the library first and then import the cover art.  That has never failed me.

Library Tools -> Update Library from Tags seems to have solved the issue.

Not sure what the problem was.

Update Library from Tags writes the tag data in the file to MC database. Did that fix the problem of writing to the file? If so, that is really strange. Or did you mean Update Tabs from Library?
