Title: Library Restore
Post by: JohnW3000 on April 11, 2025, 01:48:23 pm
I haven't had to restore a library in a long time and I can't get my backup to restore. The restore dialog doesn't let me select the backup zip folder. Please help.

Found the issue. Win 11 doesn't like the MC library backup file name (spaces, parenthesis, etc). I renamed the folder as JRMCLib and it found it and restored.

This happened 3-4 years ago to me and I successfully forgot it. Glad I remembered it again.

Just to be accurate, Win 11 allows the file name structure that MC creates.

The issue is in the dialog that opens when you go to restore a library and choose "Browse". That dialog lists the .zip files in the folder you've chosen for your library backup but doesn't let you select the backup .zip that has the special characters.

This is an obscure bug and the developers rightly should work on more important things.

A simple rename is an adequate solution.
