Title: Is there a way to change the Default Library?
Post by: BullishDad on April 21, 2025, 02:37:42 pm
When I switched from Windows to Mac, I started with a with a smaller library of files than my Main Library to make sure things were working correctly.  I added the Main Library afterwards, and have about six libraries all together.

However, I could not find a way to mark the Main Library as the default library.  I tried the library options in library manager, but I didn't see anything that would let me change the default library.

MC just starts with whatever was the last loaded library.

You can create a shortcut to start MC with a specific library (or to switch to it if MC is already loaded):
"C:\Program Files\J River\Media Center 34\MC34.exe" /library MyLibraryName

I suppose the Mac version supports the same command line, up to you to make it work :)

MC just starts with whatever was the last loaded library.
It will, so long as: "Tools > Options > Startup > Library > Always load default library" is unchecked.

Ok, I was unaware of that one. Then, not sure how to set the default library.
