I've set up JRiver Media Center 33.0.72 on my new M4 Mac mini running Sequoia 15.4.1 and have JRemote 3.44 on my M4 iPad Pro running iPadOS 18.4.1.
I used the acces key and the authentication which are both set up in MC 33. JRemote works wonderfully and I can do everything except change the ratings on a song. Any change I make in JRemote does not show up in MC 33. In fact, if I change a rating while a song is playing in JRemote,it reverses to the prior rating when the song finishes and the next song starts.
I've tried changing the authentication code in MC, and I've deleted and re-added the server in JRemore. Neither made any difference.
It seems there is something flakey with the authentication. I'd appreciate any help.

Is Authentication (login/password) set on the server? If not, the client can't write data to the server.

If by "the server" you mean is it set in MC 33, then yes. I stated that in my post. And those credentials are also entered in the setup pane in JRemote just below where you enter the Access Code.

I think I may have found the issue. I changed the Read Only Authentication setting below where the Authentication is set, from Everyone to Disabled. I never set it to everyone as far as I can recall. I can't find any explanation of that setting in the wiki.
