Seems that if I delete a file from MC (not via the playlist but from the Audio tab) that track no longer appears in the playlists that it was put into. Is this the case or am I mistaken.
I know that if the file is moved or deleted outside of MC, the track appears as a red circle with a white line across is, like the no entry sign.
But for tracks that are removed from both MC AND the underlying file does MC just remove all mention of that track everywhere in MC, including all playlists?
Many thanks.

Anyone?

Deleting a file in MC removes it from everywhere within MC - a file only exists once, playlists etc just point to the same file.

Ok, thanks for the input. Now that I know that I have lost those tracks from the library AND the playlists I have a back up solution.
I have a copy of all of my Playlists. There are several and in several sub playlist groups. I did a "Export all Playlists" and have these in a folder structure.
Is there a way to restore ALL the playlists from this folder in one go? I can see that each playlist can be imported but I have many playlists that I would like to import. Is there an "import all Playlist" in the same way that there is an Export All?

BTW, I have restored all the deleted files back to MC. But of course, even after importing them back in, they are still missing from the playlists.
What I will have to do is to manually identify the missing tracks in the playlists and then add those tracks in again. Easy enough to do as there isa red circle for tracks in a playlist but not found in the library.

You could restore a library backup to recover your old playlists.
