Hello there i recently ordered MC9 and i love it i was wondering if there are any plans to port to linux as i would love to leave windows but now i invested 40 bucks in this software that cant run in linux even under wine unfortunately. hehe this is my final app holding me in windows cut me freeee. but seriously the linux community would greatly appreciate it even a limited port at first.

i think they started a project already for Linux but JimH said the player will be really basic at first, and maybe a year away.
since then there has not been an update and don't know where this project stands (active or not)

There are so many other things that should be done first. JRiver is after all a commercial company and probably needs to foucs on the OS family 90 % (or maybe even more) is using. 8)

I've always said MJ/MC on Linux would be the "Killer App" that pushes the OS to new heighths...isn't that right King? :)

Well they've produced what? 4 versions now? once they port it to linux they dont have to focus on it alone they could EASILY port updates from windows to linux once they have the base client in there. Their main focus would still be on windows sadly but hey a linux media center would rock :) ive bought Mj / MC twice back at 6 and again at 9 i hope my next time is for linux.

Yeah, I've got nothing personally against Linux (only if it tries to worm itself into one of my computers...), so as long as it does not hurt the development of functions and stability for the Windows versions I see no problems there. 8)
